Make Your Guest Blogging Efforts Worth It
January 30th, 2012
If you are not squeamish about working on your business, then perhaps guest blogging is for you. There are many good blogs out there that accept guest posts based on the type of quality you offer them. Since you are new and your blog maybe is not highly ranked, you will need to work with smaller blogs at first. All we can do is help educate you, and then you have to go out there and do the work and pound the pavement.
Every blog has their own way of wanting to see things done, so follow the directions at all times. See to it that your post is formatted according to the other posts on the blog. Each new blog you write for is an opportunity to continue writing for them. When others see that you follow directions and are hassle-free, then that is a feather in your cap. Chances are you will see other guest posts on the blog you are about to submit to, and that will give you a good idea. Some blogs may be different, but we have seen the typical thing where you have to write and submit your content before anything else. Showing them your post before anything else seems to be the standard way of approaching this matter. So just see what they want you to do for the post you want them to publish. Also sometimes they will state they do not want you to contact them and ask for permission; they just want you to submit your post to them. But in the end if you annoy a blogger enough, then that person may just ignore your post submission.
Do not bother or worry about links in your post because you have no way of knowing what to do. Some suggest you do this when guest blogging, but see what is wanted by the webmaster. This just goes on to show that you took out the time to study the blog, find other relevant posts and link to them. You could even wait for any instructions to be sent, or read what is on their site before doing this. If it was our blog, we would not want guest bloggers doing this, so just use your own judgment.
There are important elements that must go into your guest blogging, so be sure you learn them and do them. Syndicating content can be very powerful if you are a solid writer and provide value. In addition to the exposure and traffic, brand building will be another added benefit. The first step is to look for blogs in your niche or closely related to it.
