The Advancing Innovation in The Pentax K5 DSLR Camera
January 23rd, 2012
The new digital SLR from Pentax, the K5 DSLR, really is much more than just another pretty face in a sea of cameras on the market. The same set of functions and capabilities do seem to be offered by most cameras. Obviously you can have excellent quality photos and more reliable cameras, etc, and that is the difference. Camera makers are basically working with the same materials and levels of technology, but then we start getting into areas such as innovation.
If you are a professional, then you have different requirements from the average camera buyer. Regardless of why you want a digital camera, just avoid breaking your bank and get something you will enjoy using.
The Pentax K5 arrives with a new set of imaging and processing power which we will explain. You will see references to CMOS, Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor, and it is extremely valuable in certain applications. CMOS electronic devices are known as ‘chips’ which is something many people recognize. The K5′s sensor which is used for detecting the image is a new design with wider image sensing capabilities.
This is all about processing ability, and that is one of the key features of the K5. The end-result is an extremely high resolution digital image with superior gradient processing. If you are familiar with megapixels, and that is a common term, then think of the K5 in terms of 16 megapixels.
We have all seen certain shots where it looks like the camera was asked to do something that it really was not designed to do. You can take maximum advantage of the Live View operation mode for rapid selection and shooting. An entirely new image sensor was added to the K5 along with upgraded software for more precise processing and speed. The K5 has auto-focus functions which were enhanced due to these changes. But the end user only cares about what can be done and how well their photos will turn out. So if you use the K5, be sure to check out rapid picture shooting with auto modes without worrying about poor resolution.
According to some, they have had experiences with under-exposure in this camera. The amount of it is approximately slightly more than one quarter f stop in under-exposure. The capability for lower ISO applications does excel over other popular models. If you have a need for better results with dim light shots, then we think you will be happy with what you can do. The one thing to keep in mind is you will not have access to auto-focus with video.
For the non-professional photographer, the Pentax K5 is will certainly provide great photos with lots of other options. However, do not get nervous about the programming as the interface is intuitive. The novice photographer will have a lot of fun with the K5. Nobody really should have a hard time discovering how to operate the K5. But if you are the adventurous kind, then the K5 could be ideal for you.
